Roy's Motel and Cafe is an icon of Route 66, The Mother Road. This photograph was made during Roy's Route 66 Cruisin' Car Show. Roy's appeared much as it did in its halcyon days on The Route. The big, beautiful sign is working again, and lighted. Period cars fill the parking lot of the motel cabins. The cabins are gutted and empty, and the cafe no longer serves food (there are grievous water issues). Nonetheless, the magic and the mood remain. There's 'road history' here, and it's always worth a visit.
