Badwater Creek at Death Valley

It is an uncommon sight. Death Valley had gotten heavy rain, and the badwater salt flats were flooded. This photograph was made after the water had receded, though much of the salt pan was still under water. The creek of slowly flowing water gives three horizontal bands in cool blue, matching the sky. Warm tones of the hills balance the palette, and the white cloud accents the view.
