It is the Nipomo, California Post Office. I've seen the possibility for a good photograph here for some time, since it's across the street from the gym I use. So, one night I returned, with a new camera, and made this photograph.
At right, the dark back of a sign pushes attention back into the frame, with three post lights leading up to the post office entrance. The red stripe above the mailboxes is repeated by tail lights along the roadway. As an empty stage, the photograph lacked life and story, but the young girl completes the scene splendidly, and her position on the left balances the frame. I'm very pleased with the result; it is another benefit of my time at the gym.
