Exploring Waputki ruins, I came across this little guy. I had one lens: a 16-35 millimeter zoom. The lens was not ideal, but the lizard was. He permitted me to get close enough to fill the frame at 35mm. It was an uncomfortable approach for my back because I wanted to stay low to give the lizard more dominance in the view. Perhaps he was more relaxed because of my low position. After this photograph, he turned his head and wandered away.
