Three Rivers Jazz Affair

Fifty years of good music, good people, and good times warrants a hearty round of congratulations. Well done! It was all very splendid and everyone said so. The musicians were in good form and so was the staff. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.

The usual challenge applied for photography: finding a clean view of the action. That means avoiding the stage clutter in the foreground and the distracting elements in the background. On the technical side, automation is wonderful for photography, but this year I made nearly every photograph in manual mode. That allowed me to set the aperture that I wanted the shutter speed that I needed. The camera then adjusted ISO appropriately. I am pleased with the results.
