Strong backlight accentuates the edges of the butterfly wings and the reflector kicks light under them to yield a dramatic translucent quality. Burning (darkening) and dodging (lightening) applied to specific areas of the final image enhance the effect. For the print, Fuji Crystal Archive chromogenic paper is used for its ability to reproduce high-saturation color.
