Containing the Crop

The silos store and contain the harvest, and this photograph frames the developing crop between those silos. Complex lines and shapes of the field and clouds are balanced by the simple, flowing lines of the silos. The light yields particularly nice texture on the silo at right, and the loss of focus toward the left pushes attention back into the frame. It is a strong, graphic image, unlike most interpretations of the subject. It balances and contrasts organic and natural shapes with hard and industrial shapes.
