I am reminded of The Alamo. The assailants here are time and weather. I suspect this grainery will soon be deemed "an attractive nuisance," and razed for scrap before it collapses upon some hapless explorer.
The photograph is appealing not only in the conflict of the grainery's existence, but also the contrast of warm and cool tones (emphasized considerably by very late afternoon light). The stark, bold face of the grainery delivers the impact: decrepit, but standing straight and rigid in stoic defiance of the inevitable. I respect this grainery for its refusal to surrender.
