Wounded Soldier

This is one of my favorites of the day. The photo has a story to tell, and it tells it beautifully. The running characters are caught in mid-stride, unequivocally revealing the action. The background, with smoke, soldiers and rifles, sets the stage of time and place. And finally, the random clutter of the cornstalks serve to portray the chaos of the moment.

It doesn't get much better than this. I was fortunate that they were running toward me, and that I noticed the action in time to get three exposures of the action. This one had excellent proportion in size of the foreground and background people, and a little more space between the main characters. The sepia tone effect adds historical ambience and eliminates the distraction of color, putting our attention on the event and the story portrayed.
