The Road to Thorndike Campground

With experience from our previous travels, we're feeling confident in our equipment and know what we're doing with it. We decided to camp at Death Valley on our way to Idaho. This is August, though. So rather than stay in the valley, which would be very dumb, we opted for Thorndike Campground. Thorndike is on the west side of the Panamint Range, at 7400 feeet. This section of the road looks relatively good compared to what we enountered further up the hill. Still, there was nothing technical or particularly challenging, and we made the ascent without incident. We had the campground to ourselves.
