Santa Maria Fair
14-JUL-2010
Opening day of the fair drew a good crowd. Harpo the Clown and Washboard Willy were at the gate when it opened. From there, visitors made their way to exhibit halls, livestock areas, performance stages, vendors and the midway. It looked as though the fair would enjoy another successful year. These photographs do not represent all that the fair has to offer, but they do provide a sampling of the activities there. It was a great place to be to spend a fine summer day. Plus, as a side note, this year the fair benefits from a web site that is vastly improved over the previous version.
My photographs connected well with the judge at the fair this year. Of ten entries, nine received ribbons, including five First Place awards and one Best of Show. Photographs were hung on gold drape this year. The gold brightened the entire exhibit hall and put an elegant flair to the show. Very nice! Kudos to Richard and Babs for another fine presentation.
