Observations at Car Shows

Many of the cars look better than they did when they rolled new out of the factory. And the boxy old Fords, which were originally offered only in black, are often presented in rich and beautiful colors at the car shows. My preference is for small sport cars and the very old automobiles, but for photography, any good opportunity that catches my eye will do.
Photographing these machines is all about light, line and color. It's uncommon to find a clear, unobstructed view of a complete car without background distractions such as trash cans, signs, and the ever-present guys in white t-shirts. And so it is that most images from car shows present pieces and abstractions rather than the full vehicles. It's a chance to appreciate details. Seventeen views are offered below.
