California Warriors ~ Camp Roberts

There were two running events, 5K and 10K, guided hikes, two climbing towers and an obstacle course. Plus lunch. The runners were generally cavalier about the challenge. Participants at the towers and obstacle course, however, were more attentive to their tasks. Everyone that I saw on the obstacle course—high in the air—completed the task. The face paint kids impressed everyone. Well done!

Many photographs at the obstacle course were shot nearly or directly into the sun. From that direction, participants were mostly in shadow with a very bright background of sky. Photos were made a bit overexposed. The extremes of highlights and shadows were recovered in post-processing, and the results were often better than I had expected.
